Oude Lambiek De Cam

Price: TBD
Oude Lambiek De Cam

Unlike many other unblended oude lambik, there exists both draft and bottled versions of De Cam Oude Lambiek.

Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "De Cam Oude Lambiek" and anything less than 6 months-old under "De Cam Jonge Lambiek".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik". If in doubt, message JorisPPattyn.

Oude Geuze De Cam
A traditional Belgian beer style - geuze from a newish geuzeblender.
One of the higher rated Belgian gueuzes - a very strong beer thats good lots of sourness, though not overpowering. Orange brown pour with a slight yellow tint. Good amount of fluffy white head, lots of funky sourness on the nose. Some earth and wood and a touch of citrusy lemon. Earthy and musty. Sourness is strong but not overpowering. Funky and earthy.
•Alcohol: 6.00%
•Served: 8-10°C
•Type: Lambic, Oud Gueuze, Artizanal

Oude Kriek De Cam

Oude Kriek De Cam

This is a belgian beer dark pink in colour with spritzy carbonation. Aromas are of lemon peel, cherry pits, funk, and spicy wood. The lemon elements become quite acidic in the mouth, but combine with notes of cherry blossom, barnyard and dry old wood into something magical.
•Alcohol: 6.50%
•Served: 8-10°C
•Type: Lambic, Oud Kriek, Kriek, Artizanal

Geuze
375 mL
Price (case of 20 bottles): $188.73
Geuze
This is a world-class Geuze that really impresses with its very strong, complex and nuanced funkiness, as well as some vibrant fruity esters and a good oak presence to round things out
Pours a clear, golden amber coloration with a small, fizzy head. Smell is dominated by quite musty, earthy, sweaty funk and some fruity esters of green apple and apricot, as well as some wet grass, oak and doughy malt. Taste is an excellent balance of light doughy, sweetish malt, some profound musty, sweaty, earthy funk with hints of blue cheese and mushrooms and strong, fruity and slightly spicy yeast esters of green apple, pear, apricot, gooseberry and clove, with the apricot standing out
•Alcohol: 4.90%

Nectarine

Nectarine
The mouthfeel is great, and acidity well balanced, super drinkable, prickly lambic with a mild but tasty fruit presence.
The nectarine does, though, shine on the nose, fresh, herbal and bright.
Poured a clear golden color lambic with no carbonation. Aroma of sour notes with some oak, funky barnyard notes with subtle nectarine notes. Taste is also a mix of sour notes with some subtle nectarine notes, some oak, barnyard funk with light acidic notes.

Framboise
375 mL
Price (case of 20 bottles): $345.63
Framboise
Incredible play by De Cam: woodiness of the barrels, nice tart raspberry, straw, acidic cherry, dried flower and booze accent the wooden base. Dry, crisp finish, with decent carbonation and fizzy nature in foretaste. Classic composition
Poured a deep red color lambic with a large pink color foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of funky yeast notes with some huge raspberry notes, some tartness and light acidic notes. Taste is a mix of huge raspberry flavors with some funky barnyard notes, some acidic notes but nothing overwhelming and oak with light residual sugar notes. Body is about average with excellent carbonation foe the style. Solid fruit lambic and something I wish was more accessible over here.
•Alcohol: 5.00%
•Served: 10°C
•Type: Lambic, Original Lambic, Framboise

Cherry pie and and cherry pits. Lightly sweet but not tart. Minimal acidity. Very fruity and flavorful. Light carbonation. Great feel. Great bottle.
Nice pink color, massive head that immediately dissipates. Mild funk and cherries. Delicious cherry flavor, very little sourness, cherry pie filling.
