Since Blehen is not any more one independent commune, the communal house had many different destinations: room of meeting, showroom, bar-refreshment bar or room of storage of various materials. Its worsening state gradually, it was decided to undertake its restoration. But what to make some?
Following the example other villages of the surroundings, one had initially thought of a house of village. This project, similar to so much of others, missed relief and did not reflect the dynamism and the originality which characterizes the blehinois. Moreover the room of the Harmony on the matter satisfied already all their needs. In order to prevent that this place is devoted to other activities, extrablehinoises, the inhabitants of the village dug the head to find an idea.
At the time of a festival with Waremme, some monks discuss with Didier Cornet, an artisanal brewer of the area. When a monk of Saint Antoine meets a brewer, about what speak do? Of beer, of course. And especially of artisanal beer, like the east vintage Holy Antoine… The old dream of the monks always was to brew the Vintage in the middle very village. Of glass out of glass, the idea takes form: and if one made beer with Blehen, at the old Communal House? Transform in brewery, of course! This original plan is subjected to the Town of Hannut and the rural Restoration where from the start it arouses the interest! The project is all the more interesting as it is original and it will be finally adopted with enthusiasm. The capital costs are important and cannot be supported by the only village of Blehen. It is the Town of Hannut and the Rural Restoration, therefore the Walloon region which will finance this ambitious plan.

The name of Brewery of Flo trouvre its origin in the locality located just opposite the communal house. At this place a stretch of water was, whose size varied according to the seasons and which one called “Flo”. In winter the kids of Blehen took pleasure to slip on this very natural skating rink!
