Brouwerij De Ryck

Gustaaf De Ryck is inspired by brewing and devotes his life to found his own brewery in a farm in Herzele across the church. He traveled to Bremen where he learns the craftsmanship of brewing. Kettels and tubs were imported and soon enough the first beer flowed in several pubs in the Dender area. Brewery "De gouden Arend" (The golden Eagle) was born! Gustaaf tried to conquer his beer loving country armed with a blond and a dark beer.

Unfortunately World War 1 shut down the first brewery as kettles were taken for army needs.
All forces united, a new brewery was founded with the family name of its founder: “Brouwerij De Ryck" and with it a new amber-colored beer is introduced "Special De Ryck".
When Gustaaf died in 1965, his son and his two daughters continued his life’s work, followed by their two cousins.
120 years and 4 generations later the person who is responsible for creating these lovely beers is still a family member and not just any: Anne De Ryck. One of the very few female brewers in Belgium. Every day she and her co-workers succeed to pleasure every customer with a tasty beer of superior quality.
All together 8 delicious beers are waiting to be discovered in the assortment of the brewery. All of them are created with strong respect for the craftsmanship of brewing and served with lots of love.
