In the early days of Pannepeut this beer was closely related to the regular version, namely, the Pannepot. Both beers were set apart mainly by usage of different types of sugar: while the regular version contains candi sugar, Pannepot was based on cane sugar. Later on, to avoid confusion with Pannepot, the spelling of Pannepot has been changed into Pannepot whose recipe was gradually changing in a way that the beer evolved from stout-like ale to a soft tasting ale in trappist style. | |
