Kapittel Dubbel
Price: Not sold by PolyBEER
A dark brown Belgian beer with a big, creamy head and some yeast flakes swirling around. Smell is light malty with some doughy and a light caramel smell.
Country: Belgium
Brewery: Brouwerij Van Eecke
Alcohol: 7.50  %
Type: Ale, Bruin, Double, Abbey
Appearance: Pours a muddy mahogany brew with a big foamy tan head. The head lasts throughout but there"s no perceivable effervescence or lacing to speak of.

Aroma: The aroma is of medium low intensity with a very balanced profile of chocolate, raisins, yeast dough, dark Belgian candy sugar, rum, cinnamon and a faint touch of spices. The alcohol is very subdued which is great since it makes the drinking experience much more enjoyable as the beer warms.

Taste: High strength and balanced, this brew showcases a flavorful sweetness on the palate with notes of chocolate, caramel, molasses, Belgian candy sugar, raisins, some spiciness and a faint smokiness/earthiness on the back. Again, the alcohol is really shy on the tongue but you can still pick it up in the wide harmony of flavors.

Palate: Beautiful. The carbonation is low, the texture is creamy and coating. The brew itself is full bodied and finishes semi-dry but leaves a lasting aftertaste of caramel, molasses and a bit of smokiness. The balance is excellent with some notes dominating others, but rarely overshadowing.

Drinkability: Great drinkability, one can barely notice the alcohol. Its not cloying, at all, but showcases a sugary treat sweetness.
