Deep, hazy amber color with two inches of lively light tan head. Moderate lacing. Dates, sugar, and yeasty aroma right up front. The dark fruit flavor is quickly overwhelmed by alcohol and yeast flavors, with the warm, almost hot, alcohol lingering on into the finish. Fairly strong hop bitterness sets up camp on the back of the tongue and remains there for the duration.
