A sour beer at 10 percent. with cherry With saints, we wanted to brew a dessert to be enjoyed in situations where criminals might select a dessert - a port or sherry. Helge is of type Barley Wine. Barley Wine is an English-style beer that occurred when Napoleon prevented the British from importing wine. Then it was good advice expensive when wealthy Englishmen had to find a replacement for the wine they had grown accustomed to. So was resourceful brewers to brew a really strong beer without too much hops. Barley Wine, or bygvin, directly translated. Napoleon showed up at Waterloo, so the British could again get wine. So was barley wine forgotten, until American micro-brewers "reinvented" beers. Helge is our version of a barley wine with fruit. Its acidity of the berries, and is sweet from the malt. The color is reddish. We have brewed it in lager malt, Munich malt, cholademalt, cherry, orange peel and hops. Drink it chilled, preferably of wine glasses on a stalk. So it becomes really nice.
