For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".
A: Pours a ruddy orange with no semblance of a head, just a few bubbles. For a cask pour of a style that doesn"t have head retention as a strong point, this is not bad
S: Holy crap. This is very clearly a Hanssens beer. Sour, funky, acidic and has a definite hop character that"s pretty unique. Think 6 month old IPA aroma/flavor and imagine it with a strong lambic base - pretty good, eh?
T: Opens up massively sour. The Hanssens stuff on cask is even more sour and aggressive than out of the bottle. Funky and horsey, there"s a lot going on in this beer. The faded hop character is prominent. There"s a certain sharpness that"s unique and due to the "young" nature of this beer. Finishes long, dry and sour
