Van Steenberge blend young and old beers to make this mildy tart sour ale. Light bodied with a lactic/sour nose and a bit of sweet and sour in the finish. Very refreshing!
Country: Belgium
Brewery: Van Steenberge Bios
Alcohol: 5.50  %
Type: Ale, Red Ale
Pours amber brown color with a lasting creamy, light tan head. Nice sheets of lacing were left behind. The nose is tart with lactic notes. The flavor is sweet and has some cherries mixed in with weak lambic flavors. Taste is the wood, along with the black cherry and followed by a soft and mild acetic vinegar. Gently sour, particularly as it opens up, blended nicely with the black cherry fruit. Nice integration, classy. Palate is higher carbonation, medium bodied, and long soft finish.
