Very popular among the craft-brew set, this style of ale is set apart from other varieties by its use of North Amrican hops, such as the Cascade. North Amerian hops provide red ales with a strong, bittel flavour and aroma. The colour of these ales can range from light copper to medium-red, bordering on medium-brown, which speaks to the malt and caramel flavours often present.
